Mr. Ian Mitton 

Chairman of the Board

Mr. Mitton brings more than thirty years of experience to Australis, having served as Managing Director and Chief Executive of leading engineering, aquaculture, and governmental organizations during his career.  Over the past 20 years, he has had leadership roles at several companies during periods of rapid expansion. He has extensive on-the-ground global business development experience including working in Australia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Japan, Southeast Asia, China and Russia.

Mr. Mitton was the founding Managing Director of Tassal Limited, the largest Atlantic salmon producer in the Southern Hemisphere, where he oversaw the establishment of the company’s operations in Tasmania, built the sales and marketing infrastructure and developed a wide range of value added products for sale in Australia, Japan and other markets. He was subsequently recruited to Warman International Limited initially as Managing Director, European operations and then became Chief Executive Officer of CH Warman Group, both leaders in the industrial pumps industry.

From 1999 to 2002, Mr. Mitton served as General Manager of Resource Industries for the Tasmanian government.

Mr. Josh Goldman B.Sc.

Managing Director

Mr. Goldman is an internally recognized pioneer of commercial controlled environment aquaculture. Mr. Goldman brings over 20 years of aquaculture management experience as well as considerable knowledge of seafood marketing. Mr. Goldman founded several companies recognized as industry leaders, including one of the US’s first tilapia farms, and the US’s first commercial marine fish hatchery (cod and flounder). Mr. Goldman has consulted for public and private entities on four continents and was awarded three patents on water filtration and reuse. Mr. Goldman has served on numerous government and industry panels for the National Marine Fisheries Service and the USDA, as a director of the New England Fisheries Development Association, and has spoken extensively in the US and abroad.

Mr. David O'Sullivan

Non Executive Director

Mr. O’Sullivan is an aquaculturist and marine biologist, is recognized as a major commentator on all sectors of the Australian aquaculture industry and is experienced in the farming of Barramundi.  He has conducted his own aquaculture consultancy business since 1986. Mr. O’Sullivan is also the co-proprietor of National Aquaculture Training Institute which trains personnel for the aquaculture industry. Mr. O’Sullivan brings considerable technical and practical experience to the Company in fish husbandry as well as staff training and professional development

Mr. Michael Cohen

Non Executive Director

Mr. Cohen founded Lightlife Foods, Inc., the leading developer, manufacturer, and marketer of premium refrigerated soy-based meat alternative products in the United States. During Mr. Cohen’s tenure as CEO, Lightlife was the category market leader in both natural foods and mass market.  As CEO of Lightlife Foods, Michael was responsible for strategic planning, banking and financial relationships, financing, new product development, co-directing marketing, internal and external company policies, legal affairs, and long-term growth and development.

Mr. Jonathan Daen

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Daen joined Australis in August 2007 after serving as a consultant to the Company. Prior to joining Australis, he served as Managing Member of Longmeadow Capital Partners, a private equity firm located in Massachusetts. In addition, he has previously served in senior financial, planning and international management roles with companies in the consumer products, financial service and publishing industries.  He holds an MBA from Cornell University and a BA from Grinnell College.

Mr. Gabriel Chiappini

Company Secretary

Mr. Chiappini has worked in Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretarial roles in both local and international environments and also holds the position of Company Secretary with ASX listed and unlisted companies. Mr. Chiappini has experience in diverse and varied industry sectors including the following, Investment Banking (UK), Property Development & Investment (UK), Telecommunications (Australia) and Biotechnology (Australia).
