The perfect fish for a changing world

Australis is innovating a brighter food future through climate-smart ocean farming.

Behind The Better Fish®

Always curious, never satisfied. We are an ambitious bunch of engineers, scientists, farmers, and foodies who are passionate about building a better planet.

OUR VISION

Better fish in every home, for everyone

At Australis, we imagine a world where anyone can enjoy healthy seafood whenever, and wherever they want. That’s why we’re spearheading the global emergence of ocean-farmed barramundi for consumers, schools, hospitals, and businesses—and putting The Better Fish® in every home, for everyone.

OUR MISSION

Pioneer climate-smart ocean farming

We implement environmentally-conscious and scalable alternatives to promote the recovery of diminishing wild fisheries while raising high quality, nutritious fish. Our innovative practices address all of the major environmental challenges facing aquaculture today.

CORE VALUES

Doing right
by our people

We’d be nowhere without our team of change-makers. We’re proud to work with some of the best people in the industry. We take care of the people who make Australis a great place to work.

"Australis' innovative practices make it a leader in sustainable seafood."

– Mike Boots, Seafood Choices Alliance

OUR BARRAMUNDI FARMS

Redefining Aquaculture

We designed and built two pathbreaking farms from the ground up and operate them with a highly trained and dedicated staff of aquaculture experts. Both of our farms have earned "Best Choice" ratings by Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch®.

VAN PHONG BAY, VIETNAM

Farming Vietnam’s pristine waters

76o F

We brought our innovative ocean farming approach to central Vietnam because of its pristine environment and because barramundi is native to the region. We employ a hybrid system of on-land nursery tanks and offshore marine net pens to grow the fish efficiently and responsibly.
