Always curious, never satisfied. We are an ambitious bunch of engineers, scientists, farmers, and foodies who are passionate about building a better planet.
– Josh Goldman, Co-founder & CEO of Australis Aquaculture
Thirty years ago, Josh Goldman arrived at Hampshire College and developed one of the first aquaponics systems in his dorm. After graduating, he helped bring tilapia to America—but even as tilapia was succeeding, he recognized a tremendous need for a healthier, more delicious and sustainable fish that everyone could afford. Read MoreWe built our pathbreaking farms from the ground up and operate them with a highly trained and dedicated staff of aquaculture experts. Our Vietnam-raised Barramundi is proudly ASC Certified, Fair Trade Certified, and 4-Star BAP Certified.
We brought our innovative ocean farming approach to central Vietnam because of its pristine environment and because barramundi is native to the region. We employ a hybrid system of on-land nursery tanks and offshore marine net pens to grow the fish efficiently and responsibly.

Greener Grazing™ is an ambitious, one-of-a-kind project with the potential to virtually eliminate methane emissions from livestock digestion by introducing a type of seaweed, Asparagopsis taxiformis, into ruminant animal diets. We are exploring cultivation methodologies and integrations with the barramundi farm.
