Julie is making #BarraMonday a thing. Fueled by her passion for sustainable seafood
and storytelling, Julie works to inspire chefs and home cooks everywhere to rethink fish.
With over 10 years of experience in branding and advertising at leading agencies in New York City, Julie has worked on some of the world’s most iconic brands, including Jaguar, State Farm, Starwood Hotels, and ExxonMobil.
Prior to joining Australis in 2015, Julie was a self-described oyster sommelier and led her own marketing consulting practice. Julie founded In a Half Shell, an oyster appreciation blog that was recognized as one of Fathom Away’s “Top 24 Travel Blogs of 2015” and SAVEUR’s “Sites We Love.” She’s also created educational products and experiences for fellow oyster enthusiasts, including the Oyster Omakase Pop Up Tasting Club, Oyster Mastery Class for Skillshare, and the 33 Oyster Tasting Notebook.
Her interest in the future of seafood led her to the Sustainable Seafood Blog Conference in New Orleans where she met Australis CEO Josh Goldman. Today, she’s an invaluable member of the team helping Australis spread the word about The Better Fish across the country and on social media.
